Phase 2
KCAD-2

Building upon the success of Phase 1, the KCAD-2 study, previously known as Health and Wealth in Children and Adolescents with Chronic Kidney Disease (KCAD), aims to address remaining gaps in evidence and policy. This longitudinal cohort study will extend its reach, inviting previous participants to continue their follow-up while also recruiting new participants, expanding the age range from pre-schoolers to adolescents.
With the addition of two new hospital sites and updated outcomes and questionnaires, KCAD-2 will delve deeper into understanding the long-term impact of kidney disease on children and adolescents. Over a six-year period, researchers will engage patients and caregivers, employing innovative methods to collect and analyse data.
By examining the social and economic factors influencing the health of young individuals with kidney disease, the KCAD-2 study seeks to develop targeted strategies and interventions to promote health equity within this vulnerable population.
