Doctor Anita van Zwieten

Dr Anita van Zwieten is an epidemiologist and a Research & Teaching Lecturer in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney and the Centre for Kidney Research at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, with expertise in clinical, social and life-course epidemiology. Her research focuses on understanding socioeconomic inequalities in health from a life-course perspective, particularly among children and young people with chronic kidney disease, understanding and improving patient-centred and psychosocial outcomes for people with chronic kidney disease. She also does methodological work in social epidemiology, particularly related to overadjustment and confounding bias.  She also teaches into and coordinates units in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Sydney.
